The LEGO Movie’ director had the perfect response to his Academy Awards snub

“The LEGO Movie” got skunked when the Academy Awards nominations were announced on Thursday.
Sure, its signature song, “Everything Is Awesome,” received a nomination for original song. But the movie itself got … nada.
“The big surprise here is that ‘The LEGO Movie’ wasn’t nominated,” The Washington Post’s Stephanie Merry wrote after surveying the animated feature film category. (The Post gave the film a three-and-a-half star review.)
The non-nomination prompted Phil Lord, who co-wrote and co-directed “The Lego Movie” with Christopher Miller, to tweet this perfect response:
He then added (more or less) that everything is, in fact, awesome.
For his part, Miller had a slightly less enthusiastic take.
