By winning his fourth Super Bowl, Tom Brady equaled the mark held by Terry Bradshaw and his childhood idol, Joe Montana. On Thursday, Brady used a “Throwback” Facebook post to provide evidence that, as a 4-year-old, he was in attendance for one of Montana’s, if not the entire NFL’s, most iconic moments: “The Catch.”
It was already understood that Brady was at Candlestick when the 49ers advanced to their first Super Bowl by beating the Cowboys on a late touchdown pass from Montana to Dwight Clark. The score of that game, 28-27, is the same as the one behind Brady in the photo, and he appears to be around the age of 4.
Of course, Brady also appears to be pretty unhappy, but maybe he’s already foreseen the fate of Candlestick, which is currently being torn down to make room for a mix of residential and commercial development. Or perhaps li’l Tom is having a different clairvoyant moment, one in which he foresees Montana accusing him of ordering those footballs to be deflated.
